Sara Huxley is a professional producer, line producer and production manager. She has freelanced for companies such as Academy Films, Studio 71, Studio Soho, Green Cave People, AZ Films and Uncovered. She has just finished line producing for a 5 x 30min TV show for Leopard Pictures which will air on BBC Wales and CBBC in late February 2020. The show is a BBC adaptation of Jenny Nimmo’s ’The Snow Spider’, written by Owen Shears and directed by Jennifer Sheridan. Sara also co-owns her own production company Mini Productions with partner-in-crime April Kelley.
The Minis have produced a slate of award-winning short films, including Edith which was the directorial debut for actor Christian Cooke and starred Peter Mullan and Michelle Fairley. It was long-listed for a BIFA and a BAFTA in 2017. They have been producing shorts, charity films, commercials, branded content, virals and music videos for a number of years and now have a slate of features and TV in development. You name it, they’ll organise the shit out of it.
In 2018 Sara & April produced short film Hymn of Hate which stars Russell Tovey, Thomas Turgoose and Andrew Knott. The short is directed by Matt Kennard and is due to hit the festival circuit this year. As well as Treacle, written by April Kelley and directed by Rosie Westoff. An LGBT story about friendship. Shot in LA, this was an American co-production, starring April Kelley and Ari Anderson. Treacle premiered at BFI Flare in 2019
Most recently they produced feature film Rose. Written by and starring, Matt Stokoe, best known for his role as ‘Alex’ in E4’s BAFTA-winning drama Misfits as well as Jamestown (Sky1), The Village, The Musketeers (BBC), Sense8 and Outlaw King (Netflix). Matt plays the lead role of Sam, with Sophie Rundle, a British actress best known for her role as Ada Shelby in Peaky Blinders, playing the co-lead role of Rose. Rose is the debut feature for director, Jennifer Sheridan who, for the last ten years has been honing her storyteller skills through her work as an editor (her most recent credits include Cuckoo and League of Gentleman) and has now become a multi-award winning director with her shorts films screening across the world in both BAFTA and Oscar qualifying festivals. In Sickness is due to hit the festival circuit in Autumn 2019
